UPDATES 2010 Rule Updates - 2010 Open class Quads, we will race Open class Quads every other weekend (8-10 shows) in 2010 at THS. We are considering an A and B class for the Open Quads. A would be a money class like 2009 and B class would be a trophy class for less experienced riders, to promote new racer participation. Season points would be scored in both. Any B class rider who scored 3 or more feature wins in a season, will be forced to the A class the next season. If you agree with adding a B class please email us at chadmeghan@wwt.net and give us your feedback. Quads riders will also be required to wear a padded neck collar or neck restraint with the rest of their safety gear in 2010! -2010 Novice flat kart class must have a 62 tooth rear gear to slow the kids down for safety reasons. If you want to go faster you can go into Jr. 1. -2010 Jr.1 and Jr.2 will have the same rules as last year. (Flat head engines only) -Jr.Wing/Box stock class in 2010 at THS must run only Treaded Tires on all 4 corners, same as other wing classes. -Stock Medium and Animal Heavy flat kartclasses in 2010 at THS will be allowed to run Treaded Tires or slick tires! (Any compound, tire size not to exceed 12x9x6, may mix and match treads and slicks together, example: can run 1 treaded tire and 3 slicks, 2 treads and 2 slicks, etc......)* *There will be NO siping or grooving of slick tires in any classes! Factory treaded tires may be grooved or siped. -New Class for 2010! Thunder Hill Speedway will race outlaw wing karts w/o the wing, midget style! Thunder Hill would like to thank Bud Fritz for testing at the track Monday night Oct. 19, 2009 with his 500 open wing kart without the wing. The kart handled great and carried the left front tire throughout the corner! Very exciting to watch, indeed! This class will be run on a part time basis for 2010, maybe 8-9 nights as its own class, to allow guys from the 125, 250 and 500's to race both classes by just removing their wing. (Experienced 125 kids will be allowed in this class only with approval of promoter.) Without the wing the engine size will be less of an issue and will highlight chassis set up and driver control. Sorry we do not have pics available from the test session. ( halo bars in the top of the cage, extended side panels or window nets are mandatory for safety in case of a roll over.) Thanks, THS chadmeghan@wwt.net -Novice class will be for beginners. No points will be kept, all racers will receive an award after the feature event, feature races may be split into two features to give kids better and safer racing conditions, we will have special drivers meetings to help new drivers and parents, more experienced drivers are suggested to race Jr.1 or have the Jr. Winged Outlaw class option also. The more competition your son/daughter has, the better they will become!
